The Congo Mission

Living Hope is partnering closely with several dynamic Christian ministries that are spreading the gospel in the Congo countries – one of the poorest regions in the world. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, many of the children in the churches we are helping cannot afford to attend school.(There is no reliable public school in the DRC). Therefore, parents must pay for their child’s education – if they are able to.

The result is that many of these children are unable to attend school and learn basic skills. Or their families struggle to send them to school, and suffer tremendous financial burdens as a result, often foregoing other basic needs in order to pay.

Our Child Sponsorship program was established to address this urgent need. By gaining a basic education, a child is better able to learn the scriptures, develop his or her potential in the body of Christ, and build a foundation for providing for their future families later in life.

You Can Sponsor a Child for a Year…

$480 is all that it costs to sponsor a child for his or her education for a school year. This includes the tuition expense, as well as providing the child with a uniform and a few school supplies. If you would like to help, and have not done so in the past, please contact LHIM either by e-mail or phone.

You may pay all $480 at once, or you can spread your payments out throughout the year. Either way, you should send in at least $160 by August 15 for the upcoming school year, so we can pay for the first trimester of school.

For more information, contact Richard Elton at richardelton@lhim.org. If paying by check, please write “Congo Child Sponsorship” on the memo line of the check. If using PayPal, please click on the “Donate to Sponsor a Child” PayPal button below.

Note: you also must notify LHIM that you are sponsoring a child if you haven't done so already. Please tell Richard if you are interested in getting paired with a child (richardelton@lhim.org). Otherwise, we will apply your contribution to the general Congo Children's Fund (see below).

We will connect you with a child, and send you information about him or her during the school year. You will have the joy of knowing that your gift is making an eternal difference in the life of one of these children, as well as their family.

…Or You Can Give to the Congo Children’s Fund

If you cannot commit to sponsoring a child for a full school year, another way to help the children in the Congo fellowships is by making a donation to the Congo Children’s Fund. This money is used to provide much needed materials and resources to help young children in the fellowships as they grow in the faith. You may donate any amount toward this fund at any time by check or PayPal. If paying by check, please write “Congo Children’s Fund” on the check. If using PayPal, click on the “Donate to the Congo Children’s Fund” button below.

The Congo Building Fund

The Fellowship in the Congo will soon be losing the facility that they have been using for many years for worship services, activities, classes and counseling. They are in imminent need of a new property. The cost for a suitable location is a huge financial challenge for our sister church there. They are in need of finances in order to be able to secure a new location.

If you would like to help them secure a new property, you may donate by check or using PayPal. If paying by check, please write “Congo Building Fund” on the memo line. If using PayPal, click on the “Donate to the Congo Building Fund” button below.
